Vancouver Whitecaps win 2024 TELUS Canadian Championship | POST-GAME ANALYSIS
The Vancouver Whitecaps retained their TELUS Canadian Championship crown for a third consecutive year, defeating Toronto FC on penalties after a 0-0 draw over 90 minutes.
A tournament MVP-winning performance from young B.C. goalkeeper Isaac Boehmer saw a number of penalties saved both in regulation time on Federico Bernardeschi and in the eventual shootout on Kosi Thompson, which, coupled with a Matty Longstaff effort off the crossbar, proved enough for the 'Caps to power through.
And, while Whitecaps head coach Vanni Sartini admitted to OneSoccer's Oliver Platt post-game that his team may have been outplayed at times during the match, he credited the group's togetherness and love for pulling them through and winning their third-straight Voyageurs Cup.
