THIS WEEK on OneSoccer: Messi's Miami vs. Sporting KC | CanWNT wrap up Pinatar Cup 🇨🇦 | Whitecaps vs. Saprissa, Leg 2 🏆
It's another busy week in the North American soccer world, as the first round of the Concacaf Champions Cup concludes, as does the Pinatar Cup in Spain.
Here are four matches to keep an eye on this week, all live on OneSoccer.
CanWNT vs. Chinese Taipei (2025 Pinatar Cup)
Tuesday, Feb. 25 -- 1 p.m. ET/11 a.m. PT
After an unbeaten start to Casey Stoney with last week's draw against China and win over Mexico, the Canadian women's national will wrap up its Pinatar Cup campaign on Tuesday in San Pedro del Pinatar, Spain. They'll take on 42nd-ranked Chinese Taipei for just the second time ever (and first since 1987), hoping to win and finish first at the invitational tournament.
Pre-game coverage starts at 12:30 p.m. ET and will be free on OneSoccer's YouTube, before kickoff on the OneSoccer main channel at 1 p.m. ET.
CanWNT U-20s vs. Trinidad & Tobago (Concacaf U-20 Championship Qualifiers)
Tuesday, Feb. 25 -- 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT
Canada's under-20 women's team is in Couva, Trinidad, where they're looking to secure qualification for the Concacaf Women's U-20 Championship. Through two matches, Canada lead group E after not-so-nailbiting wins over Dominica and Bermuda, by scorelines of 22-0 and 9-0, respectively.
However, if they're to top the group and therefore qualify, Canada need at least a draw against host nation Trinidad and Tobago.
Inter Miami CF vs. Sporting KC (Concacaf Champions Cup, Leg 2)
Tuesday, Feb. 25 -- 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT
We now know Lionel Messi can do it on a cold night in Kansas, and now he and Inter Miami will attempt to finish the job at home in their Concacaf Champions Cup first-round tie against Sporting KC. Miami have a 1-0 lead on aggregate after Messi scored a fantastic free kick last week, but the margin is thin, especially if SKC can find the back of the net at Chase Stadium.
The winner of this tie will be headed for the round of 16, and a clash with Jamaican side Cavalier.
Vancouver Whitecaps vs. Deportivo Saprissa (Concacaf Champions Cup, Leg 2)
Thursday, Feb. 27 -- 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT
The 'Caps have their work cut out for them as they bring their first-round tie back to BC Place on Thursday. A 95th-minute goal for Saprissa down in Costa Rica last week means Vancouver trail 2-1 on aggregate, despite Ryan Gauld's early tally putting them briefly in the lead. However, there's 90 minutes left to play, and even a 1-0 win would be enough for the Whitecaps, thanks to their precious away goal.
Can Vancouver carry on the momentum of Sunday's 4-1 win in their MLS season opener at Portland?
