Tottenham Hotspur captain and Canadian Women's National Team star Shelina Zadorsky has extended her stay at Spurs by picking up the one-year option in her current contract, the club announced Monday.

"I'm excited," Zadorsky told Tottenham's club website. "Coming here to the WSL, it's been such a good decision for me and my career. Being challenged against some of the best forwards in the world, and working with a club that wants to keep building a winning culture, I think, is what's so exciting for me."

🎙️ "I just want to keep growing. It's a huge honour to play for this club."

We are delighted to share that Shelina is extending her stay with us until 2023 👊

Zadorsky had previously signed a new deal at Tottenham in 2021, set to expire in June. She is now contracted to the club until 2023.

The 29-year-old centre-back originally joined the team in 2020 on loan from Orlando Pride, and has since become a mainstay in Rehanne Skinner's preferred XI, starting 17 of the team's 18 Women's Super League games this season, where Spurs sit fifth.

Zadorsky also made headlines in Canada earlier in April as the gold medal-winning centre-back scored an equalizing goal in the 2nd of the CanWNT's Celebration Tour matches against Nigeria.
