Currently struggling in the Bundesliga, where they’re one point off leaders Borussia Dortmund after having dropped points in five of their last 10 league games, Bayern is very much in danger of seeing its streak of 10 consecutive Bundesliga titles come to an end as things stand.
As a result, feeling the need to make a shake-up, they've now sacked Nagelsmann, who leaves having won just one Bundesliga title and two DFL Supercups with Bayern.
Tuchel is a logical replacement, given that he hasn’t managed since the fall, when he was sacked from Chelsea despite winning the Champions League with them in 2021. Especially considering that he previously managed in Germany from 2009 to 2017 with Mainz and Borussia Dortmund before joining PSG and later Chelsea, he'll be excited to return to Germany, having gone over a half-decade away from home.
With Bayern, however, he'll certainly have his work cut out for him, as they look to maintain their Bundesliga title streak, as well as chase a treble given that they still remain in the UEFA Champions League and DFB Pokal. Therefore, a big few weeks await Tuchel, with a Der Klassiker matchup against Dortmund coming after the international break, as well as a crucial quarter-final tie against Manchester City in the Champions League, and a DFB Pokal quarter-final tie against Freiburg.

This, of course, is big news for Canadian international, Alphonso Davies, who remains a key part of Bayern’s identity in his fifth season at the club. In particular, he’s been excellent under Nagelsmann as of late, putting in some strong performances at wing back, with his three goals and eight assists this season both tying his best-ever offensive output from 20/21.
Given the success of wing backs such as Reece James and Ben Chilwell under Tuchel, adjusting shouldn’t be an issue for Davies should Bayern bring in Tuchel, but it’s a situation worth monitoring on the off chance that Davies doesn’t adjust to the coach, as his contract is up at the end of 24/25.
With Real Madrid having been heavily linked to the Canadian in the past, they’ll certainly be keeping an eye on the situation and be ready to swoop in this summer, although Bayern will do their best to extend Davies before his contract dwindles, which could make for an interesting next few months.
