RECAP + HIGHLIGHTS: Cavalry FC vs. FC Supra du Québec | 2026 CPL PLAYOFFS (LEG 2)

Highlights

Cavalry FC booked their place in a fourth straight CPL Final with a 2-0 victory (3-2 on aggregate) on Saturday at ATCO Field over FC Supra du Québec.

After trailing by a goal following the first leg, they flipped the script and will now face Atlético Ottawa in a  CPL Final rematch. This time, they will host it at home.

Cavalry made two changes from the first leg, with captain Sergio Camargo a surprise in the starting eleven as he returned from injury while Harry Paton slotted into the midfield.

In the tenth minute, the hosts issued an FVS challenge when Amer Didić collided in the box with David Choinière. But the appeal was waved away by the referee.

It took Cavalry just under 25 minutes to erase their deficit on aggregate. Ali Musse picked out Tobias Warschewski at the top of the box, whose strike was deflected right into the path of Caniggia Elva. He took the ball down with his first touch, before smashing it past Milli with his second.

The goal made it 2-2 on aggregate. Supra pressed to regain their advantage but couldn't really test Nate Ingham before the end of the first half.

To begin the second half, however, Elva was replaced by Owen Graham-Roache.

Six minutes after coming into the match, Graham-Roache got himself in behind and won a penalty for Cavalry after being brought down by Joakim Milli in the box.

But the Supra goalkeeper stood tall, as he dove to his right and denied Ali Musse's attempt from the penalty spot. It was the second straight penalty save from Milli on Cavalry, as he also denied Warschewski in leg one -- albeit with the German striker scoring on the rebound.

Musse, however, redeemed himself five minutes later. Getting himself into the box, he somehow was able to keep control of the ball with multiple Supra defenders around him before sending a low strike past Milli to make it 2-0 in the match and 3-2 on aggregate.

Supra desperately pushed late to get things back on level terms on aggregate deep into stoppage time. Alessandro Biello sent a strike narrowly wide in the 85th minute, as close as

In a moment of madness prior to the final whistle, Biello was then sent off for shoving a ball kid trying to get the ball back into play quickly. The final whistle went moments after he was shown his red.

For the second time in three years, the CPL Final will be played in Calgary, where Cavalry FC lifted the North Star Cup in 2024.

More to come.
