La Liga hasn't seen the last of 'Larinismo' quite yet.

RCD Mallorca announced Thursday the club has signed Canadian striker Cyle Larin from Real Valldolid in a deal for a reported €7.5 million per Fabrizio Romano, a fee which could go up to €8.2 million based on his performance and related bonuses – constituting a potential club record. The deal reportedly runs until 2028, with Larin landing back in La Liga despite just signing for Valladolid on a permanent basis.

Valladolid had initially brought Larin in on loan out of Club Brugge, where he had struggled to find playing time. It was a massive hit for the relegation-battling Spanish outfit, as Larin enjoyed an incredible 5-month spell where he scored eight goals in 19 appearances. While Valladolid did not survive relegation, the Spanish club did trigger his contract option, signing 'The Brampton Benzema' to a permanent deal ahead of a likely sale, which has now been completed.

"I am very happy to be here," Larin told Diario de Mallorca’s Miguel Chacartegui at Palma airport on Wednesday, as translated by Canadian Soccer Daily. "I hope to be there for the first game, but it depends on the coach."
