Jesse Marsch has named his 23-man CanMNT squad for next week's Concacaf Nations League Finals, featuring all of Canada's biggest stars, plus a couple of exciting newcomers.

Canada Soccer announced Wednesday the 23-player men’s national team roster that Jesse Marsch has chosen ahead of the upcoming Concacaf Nations League Finals.

It’ll be a strong squad convening in Los Angeles as Canada look to win their first men’s international silverware since 2000. Regular stars like Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies, Lille striker Jonathan David and Porto midfielder Stephen Eustáquio were all named in the group, who will take on Mexico in semi-final action on Thursday, March 20.

Further good news for Canada is that most key players with injury concerns also appear in the squad, including Nashville SC’s Jacob Shaffelburg, Grasshopper Club midfielder Mathieu Choinière and Portland Timbers goalkeeper Maxime Crépeau. The most notable absence is full-back Samuel Adekugbe, who has not appeared for the Vancouver Whitecaps since suffering an injury earlier this month.

Marsch has included a pair of high-profile newcomers in his squad in Promise David and Daniel Jebbison, both of whom recently filed one-time switches with FIFA to commit themselves to Canada internationally.

David, a 23-year-old Brampton, Ont. native playing for Union Saint-Gilloise in Belgium’s top flight, has been in exceptional form lately, scoring 16 goals so far in 2024-25 – including seven since the beginning of January across league and UEFA Europa League play. He officially chose to represent Canada in February after previously playing for Nigeria’s U-23 side in 2022.

Jebbison, meanwhile, is a 21-year-old striker for English Premier League side Bournemouth. Born in Oakville, Ont., he also recently committed himself to Canada after playing for England’s youth sides. He has made 12 appearances for Bournemouth this season, plus a further 13 in the EFL Championship during a brief loan stint at Watford.

Les Rouges qualified for the final four by defeating Suriname 4-0 on aggregate in November's quarter-final tie. Canada are hoping to win the Nations League for the first time, with their best previous finish being the 2022-23 competition where they lost to the United States in the final. The U.S. have won all three prior editions of the tournament to date.

Canada's semi-final clash with Mexico will take place Thursday at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, with kickoff at 7:30 p.m. local (10:30 p.m. ET). It'll be their first meeting with El Tri since their 0-0 draw in a friendly in September, and their first competitive fixture against the Mexicans since the 2-1 Canadian win at Edmonton's Commonwealth Stadium in 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifying.

The winner of that match will head to Sunday's final (6:30 p.m. PT/9:30 p.m. ET) against the winner of the other semi-final between the United States and Panama, while the two losing semi-finalists will square off in a third place match, also on Sunday (3 p.m. PT/6 p.m. ET).

The Concacaf Nations League Finals will be broadcast in Canada live on OneSoccer.
