The Canadian women's national team continue their 2025 adventure at the 2025 Pinatar Cup, with new head coach Casey Stoney leading her team through their second of three matches in the tournament.

Stoney, who served as assistant to Phil Neville with the Lionesses as well as head coach of Manchester United and the San Diego Wave, is hoping to quickly leave an impression on the Canadian team, telling reporters in the build-up to this match that she'll be implementing tactical adjustments and making her own personnel decisions from the get-go – something she stayed true to with a number of line-up tweaks against China in game no. 1.

“We’ve made a few tweaks, as I think it’s important there is an element of change,” Stoney offered. “I think the players need to feel change and I want to change certain things so you will definitely see a slightly different identity.

"You don’t try and change too much too soon. We’ve got the luxury of having a year with no competitive games, so we’re going to take that year to try and change certain things and tweak certain things. There are some things that are really good within this team that I don’t need to change. This week is about assessing everything, changing certain things, and then evaluating us again and what I need to change moving forward."
