CS Saint-Laurent orchestrated an incredible 2024 TELUS Canadian Championship 'cupset' over HFX Wanderers FC, beating their Canadian Premier League opponents on penalties after holding them to a 2-2 draw over 90 minutes.

Goals from Mamadou Kane and Loic Kwemi by the League1 Quebec side caught Halifax by surprise after Dan Nimick opened the scoring from the spot, but a late reply by Ryan Telfer took this match to penalties.

CS Saint-Laurent went a perfect five for five in the shootout, and with a save on Christian Volesky, the semi-pro side booked their spot in the tournament quarter-finals, and a home-and-away date with Toronto FC.
