Pacific FC announced Monday the club has added another new face to their 2022 roster, having signed English defender Nathan Mavila.
The 26-year-old Mavila, hailing from Brixton in the U.K., is a familiar name to Canadian Premier League fans after playing both the 2019 and 2020 seasons for Cavalry FC. He played 41 total games for the Calgary-based club over two years, including both legs of the 2019 CPL Final. Mavila scored three goals and added three assists in his time playing under Tommy Wheeldon Jr.
Since leaving Cavalry after the Island Games in 2020, Mavila played briefly for IK Brage in the Swedish second division, before a stint with Wingate & Finchley in the seventh tier of English football.

Prior to landing in the CPL, Mavila played for a variety of clubs in England’s lower divisions after developing in the academy of Premier League side West Ham United. He represented a handful of teams, including Maidstone United, Wealdstone, and Hampton & Richmond Borough before heading overseas to Canada.
Mavila, primarily a left fullback, is one of a handful of newcomers to Pacific’s 2022 squad under coach James Merriman, alongside the likes of Amer Didic, Abdul Wahid Binate, and Djenairo Daniels.
The Tridents now have 17 players confirmed for their roster as they prepare to kick off their CPL title defence, which will begin on Sunday, April 10 in a CPL Final rematch at Starlight Stadium (7 pm ET/4 pm PT).
