In a historic 2-1 victory for Cavalry FC over Pumas UNAM in the first leg of their Concacaf Champions Cup tie on Thursday night, a moment of pure magic made the difference.
In the 80th minute, Tobias Warschewski, the Canadian Premier League’s 2024 Golden Boot winner, scored a goal of world-class calibre. It was the first time a Canadian Premier League club had won a match in the Concacaf Champions Cup. The two sides face off again in the second leg next Thursday, Feb. 13 in Mexico City.
