Herdman names MLS-heavy CanMNT squad for pre-World Cup friendly (+ REACTION)

Canada Soccer's Men's National Team have announced their squad for a November camp in Bahrain that will feature an international friendly test ahead of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™. The week-long camp and Friday 11 November friendly in Bahrain represents Canada's last get together before the Men's National Team moves into Qatar.  Ahead of their opening group stage match at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ on 23 November against Belgium, Canada will also travel to Dubai for a friendly match against Japan.

As the camp falls just outside the official window, the Bahrain camp will predominantly feature players from out-of-season Major League Soccer. The camp provides Canada with an opportunity to acclimatise to the heat and weather conditions in the middle east while also taking part in another important international test against an opponent from outside Concacaf.

The away match in Bahrain will be played at the Al-Khalifa Stadium (18.30 local) less than two weeks before Canada’s opening match at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™. It will also be Canada's last international test before the full squad gets together when the official international window opens for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™.
