CF Montréal acquires Greek-Canadian midfielder Ilias Iliadis
MONTREAL – CF Montréal announced on Friday the acquisition of Canadian midfielder Ilias Iliadis, who has agreed to a two-year contract for 2023 and 2024, including two options years in 2025 and 2026.
“We are very happy to offer this young Canadian the opportunity to join us and play at the MLS level,” said Vice-President and Chief Sporting Officer Olivier Renard. “He’s left footed and can play any position in midfield. He spent many formative years with a prestigious club in Greece. We welcome him to the Club.”
Born in Toronto, Iliadis, 21, has both Canadian and Greek citizenships. He played his minor soccer with the Scarborough Olympic Flame SC. Then, following a camp in Greece with the Academy of English Club Arsenal, in January 2015 he joined the Academy of Greek Club Panathinaikos. In August 2021, he joined Panathinaikos B, playing a total of 34 games and scoring two goals in the Greece Super League 2.
On the international stage, he played two games with the U17 Greek National Team, playing his first match on February 6, 2018.
