Cavalry FC adds German goalkeeper Julian Roloff
Cavalry FC announced on Wednesday the addition of German goalkeeper Julian Roloff to the 2022 roster.
Roloff has had a very successful career as a young player in the German Bundesliga, Ligapokal, and Regionalliga leagues. He most recently played for FC Koln II, where he made 24 appearances in the 2021 season.
The goalkeeper recently met up with the team down in Monterrey, Mexico, to join them for an intensive spring training camp.
“Julian is someone we have been tracking over the last couple of years. He comes from a fantastic background and over the last 12 months has gained valuable experience starting 17 games for FC Koln II in the Regionalliga West. Julian has only just turned 21 years old and Cavalry FC look at him as someone who is filled with potential. He is comfortable with both feet, has fantastic shot-stopping ability and most importantly is a great character who will add competition for Marco Carducci & Tyson Farago.” – Jordan Santiago (Goalkeeper Coach, Cavalry FC)
“Julian is a quality young goalkeeper with valuable playing and developmental experience with FC Köln having come through their academy through to their 2nd team that plays in the German 4th tier. Strategically we wanted to balance and deepen our GK pool, with an experienced GK (Farago), one in their prime (Carducci) and a younger one with high potential (Roloff). Julian has a big presence and is a tremendous shot-stopper, with a great mentality that will serve to raise the standard within our current GK pool.” – Tommy Wheeldon Jr. (Head Coach & General Manager, Cavalry FC)
