Canada Soccer and the Dutch Football Association announced today that Canada Soccer’s Women’s National Team (CANWNT) will play the Netherlands (FIFA Rank #11) in an international friendly during the October FIFA Window.

Following their opening match of the window against Switzerland (FIFA ranked #24) in Lucerne on Friday, Oct. 24, the team will travel to the Netherlands to face the Dutch squad on Tuesday, Oct. 28 at 8:45 p.m. local time. The venue will be confirmed at a later date.

“We’re excited to add another strong opponent to our calendar," said CanWNT head coach Casey Stoney. "The Netherlands are a team that thrive on keeping possession and have some very creative attacking players, and with a new head coach at the helm it will be a great test. This window will be an invaluable opportunity to get the group back together and refocus the team on our playing identity and our objectives for the next phase of our development. It’s a window where we can test ourselves against top European teams and enable us to identify key priority areas of focus moving forward."

Canada and the Netherlands have a long-standing competitive history, having met 14 times at the Women’s “A” international level. Canada holds nine wins, four draws, and one loss, with their most recent encounter coming at the Tournoi de France in 2020, which resulted in a 0-0 draw.

Both of Canada’s matches in the October FIFA window will air live on OneSoccer, available on the fuboTV Canada streaming service, as a linear channel on TELUS Optik TV (Ch. 980), and online at OneSoccer.ca and via the OneSoccer app. Fans will find extended coverage across Canada Soccer’s digital channels on Instagram, X, Facebook, BlueSky, TikTok, and YouTube, featuring the hashtag #CANWNT.

This fixture completes the CANWNT’s schedule for the 2025 calendar year. The team will close out the year in the November international window with a two-match series against Japan (FIFA rank #8) in Nagasaki, taking place on Saturday, 29 November, and Tuesday, 2 December.
