Atlético Ottawa add Canadian midfielder Noah Verhoeven
Ottawa, ON – Atlético Ottawa announced on Friday the signing of 23-year-old Canadian midfielder Noah Verhoeven. Verhoeven had a breakthrough year in the Canadian Premier League’s inaugural season in 2019 with Pacific FC and has signed a two-year contract with Ottawa that will run until the end of the 2024 season.
Verhoeven, who previously played with Ottawa winger Zach Verhoven at Pacific, earned a call-up to the Canadian men’s national team’s training camp under head coach John Herdman in 2019. He is known for his deep-lying playmaking skills and excels in tight spaces. In two seasons with York United, Verhoeven picked up five assists and is expected to bring a different kind of creativity to the Atlético Ottawa midfield.
“We’re thrilled to have Noah join our club,” said Fernando López, CEO, Atlético Ottawa. “He’s a talented player with a lot of potential and we believe he’ll be a valuable addition to our squad. Noah will bring a different dynamic to our midfield and we’re looking forward to seeing him in action for Atlético Ottawa.”
Noah Verhoeven is excited to join Atlético Ottawa and is eager to contribute to the club’s success.
“I’m thrilled to be joining such a great organization and I can’t wait to get started,” said Verhoeven. “I’m looking forward to helping the team and playing in front of Ottawa’s amazing fans.”
