ANALYSIS + HIGHLIGHTS: Whitecaps bow out of Concacaf Champions Cup as Tigres UANL run rampant
The Vancouver Whitecaps have bowed out of the 2024 Concacaf Champions Cup after suffering a 3-0 defeat to Tigres UANL at the Estadio Universitario on Wednesday, failing to hold strong in Leg 2 as they did in a 1-1 draw from the first leg and ending this opening round with a 4-1 aggregate loss.
Second-half goals from Luis Quiñones, Ozziel Herrera and Juan Pablo Vigón compounded on the night in Mexico to see Vanni Sartini's Whitecaps exit the competition, but while there will be disappointment for the Canadian outfit's faithful, there will be more frustration on chances missed than the overall effort.
The focus now shifts to Cavalry FC, the lone remaining Canadian side in the competition, as they prepare to take on Orlando City SC in Leg 1 (Wed. Feb 21, 10PM ET / 7PM PT). You can watch that match, as well as Leg 2 on Feb. 27, right here on OneSoccer.
