ANALYSIS + HIGHLIGHTS: Pacific FC vs. Atlético Ottawa (May 29, 2024) | 2024 TELUS #CanChamp
Pacific FC has advanced to the semi-final stage of the 2024 TELUS Canadian Championship and will take on the Vancouver Whitecaps of Major League Soccer in a home-and-away series, the reward of defeating Atlético Ottawa 2-1 in Leg 2 – and, thus, on aggregate – in the quarter-finals.
First-half goals from Ayman Sellouf from the penalty spot and Josh Heard to round out another Sellouf chance proved the difference between the two sides, who fought to a 0-0 draw in the first leg in Ottawa before this Leg 2 rematch.
And, with the knowledge that the winner would take on the Whitecaps on one side of the bracket – the other, a GTHA showdown between Forge FC and Toronto FC – the Tridents held firm in the second half to secure the result and advance at home, despite Sam Salter testing the issue on the hour mark to bring this match-up back to one.
