The Canadian women's national team's hopes of defending their Olympic gold medals took a huge step forward on Friday evening as Bev Priestman's side began their Concacaf Olympic play-in series against Jamaica with a 2-0 win away from home.

An opening goal from Nichelle Prince and a late doubler by Adriana Leon proved the difference in Jamaica, as Ashley Lawrence and the rest of Canada's versatile squad reformatted into a 3-5-2 to great success.

Les Rouges now bring a healthy away lead into BMO Field in Toronto for the return fixture, slated for Tuesday, Sept. 26 and available to watch right here on OneSoccer.
