ANALYSIS + HIGHLIGHTS: CS St-Laurent vs. Toronto FC | Atlético Ottawa vs. Pacific FC | TELUS Canadian Championship
A pair of Leg 1 match-ups in the TELUS Canadian Championship quarter-finals ended with vastly different outcomes, as Atlético Ottawa battled it out to a 0-0 draw against fellow Canadian Premier League table leaders Pacific FC, while Toronto FC made short work of CS Saint-Laurent in Quebec with a comfortable 3-0 win.
While the all-CanPL clash ended level, Toronto FC found little problem finding the back of the net, as Matty Longstaff, DeAndre Kerr and a cheeky quick restart by Federico Bernardeschi secured an away result – though not without some controversy, as Kerr's counter-attack finish started with what appeared to be a handball in the box on the other end.
But, with their victory, Toronto FC heads to BMO Field confident that they'll get the job done and advance to the semi-finals. Meanwhile, free-scoring Atlético Ottawa heads to Starlight Stadium at the end of the month to take on iron-sturdy Pacific FC in a one-and-done match that will need to find a winner, even if it means penalties.
All of those TELUS Canadian Championship quarter-finals Leg 2 matches, plus the other two between the Vancouver Whitecaps and Cavalry FC, and CF Montreal and Forge FC, are available right here on OneSoccer.
