ANALYSIS + HIGHLIGHTS: CanMNT crash out of Concacaf Nations League as Jamaica shocks host
The Canadian men's national team crashed out of the 2023-24 Concacaf Nations League quarter-finals after suffering a 3-2 defeat to Jamaica in Toronto, and have missed their direct path to qualifying for the 2024 Copa America as a result.
Goals from Alphonso Davies and Ismael Kone were matched by a brace from Shamar Nicholson, before Bobby Decordova-Reid scored from the penalty spot on a controversial handball call on Stephen Eustaquio.
Despite beating Jamaica 2-1 in Leg 1 down in Kingston, the Canadians could not score enough to overturn the away goals advantage in the final 4-4 aggregate scoreline. Canada will have another shot at qualifying for the Copa America on March 23, 2024 in a one-off do-or-die match-up against one of Trinidad and Tobago or Costa Rica depending on the result of Mexico vs. Honduras later this evening.
