Canadian Soccer Business continues global rights expansion with NWSL, showcasing more Canadian players

Toronto, ON – February 5, 2026 – Canadian Soccer Business (CSB) today announced the acquisition of non-exclusive Canadian media rights to the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), expanding access for audiences in Canada to follow Canadian players competing in one of the best professional women’s soccer leagues in the world.
The NWSL features more than 20 Canadian players currently competing at the professional level, including current Canada Soccer Women’s National Team members and Olympic gold medalists Kailen Sheridan, Janine Sonis, Jessie Fleming, Julia Grosso, Jordyn Huitema, Adriana Leon, Nichelle Prince, and Gabrielle Carle.
The acquisition of NWSL rights reflects CSB’s strategic approach to expanding its media portfolio by increasing the number of Canadian players audiences in Canada can watch on a regular basis. It follows CSB’s recent acquisition of Bundesliga rights, which expanded access for fans to matches featuring Alphonso Davies, Canada’s men’s national team captain and one of the country’s most recognizable soccer figures. Together, these agreements support consistent visibility for Canadian players, particularly as global attention builds around major upcoming international tournaments such as the FIFA World Cup 2026 and the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027.
“Our vision at CSB is to strategically acquire and manage media rights in ways that expand access to the game and support the long-term growth of soccer in Canada,” said James Johnson, Group CEO, Canadian Soccer Business. “That includes increasing the visibility and impact of Canadian players across the game, expanding the range of competitions available to fans, and ensuring consistent access at home beyond international windows and competitions.”
Through this agreement, NWSL matches will be licensed by CSB to OneSoccer, complementing its existing lineup of domestic and international competitions available across digital and linear platforms.
The agreement also reflects a shared focus on expanding access to women’s professional soccer and increasing visibility for players competing in the NWSL. By bringing the league to audiences in Canada through its media rights portfolio, CSB is creating new opportunities for fans to connect with the NWSL and the players shaping the women’s game globally.
