PATH TO CANMNT: How CPL helps pave road to the top

The Canadian Premier League is approaching its fifth season after successfully launching in 2019, and since then, its core concept has proven itself repeatedly: Develop talent, move them on, and bolster the player pool for the Canadian men's national team.

That benefit extends outward to other national teams (largely) across Concacaf, too, and it's a much-needed bridge that CanMNT manager John Herdman appreciated when calling in his latest roster. This time around, Dominick Zator and Victor Loturi make up the CPL alumni contingent.

Others like Joel Waterman, Sean Rea, Lukas MacNaughton and Mo Farsi, have used CPL as a springboard to Major League Soccer – and, in some cases, earned more than a look with the national team.

We're joined by CanPL.ca's Charlie O'Connor-Clarke to break down all things CPL to CanMNT on this episode of OneSoccer Today!
