KEY TAKEAWAYS from CanWNT's testimony to Heritage Committee

Last Thursday, Christine Sinclair, Janine Beckie, Quinn and Sophie Schmidt testified in front of the Canadian Heritage Committee, as they continued to fight for equal pay and treatment with Canada Soccer. But, as onlookers took in 2 hours of testimony, an unfortunate takeaway emerged.

Between Members of Parliament referring to Canada Soccer as "Soccer Canada" - perhaps in confusion with "Hockey Canada" - and asking strange, pointed questions about irrelevant topics while taking pot-shots at the CanMNT and at different government party officials, the tone of the meeting left the CanWNT contingent frustrated at times and left onlookers wanting for more.

So, what did the OST crew make of this initial committee hearing? We debate...
