Victory Grounds Ventures (VGV) is proposing to build a turf field, complete with a winter dome, at the Memorial Centre in Kingston's downtown area. The company aims to secure a long-term lease for part of the site to attract a Canadian Premier League team and two semi-professional teams. The facility would also be accessible to local community groups.
According to Paul Barbeau, managing partner at VGV, the project promises "exponential benefits," ranging from increased tourism to business growth, and would not require taxpayer funding.
